Visitor Visas for Travel and Tourists
If you are from outside the EU and are not a non-visa national, and you want to visit the UK, then there are 2 types of visitor visas that might interest you. These are the Tourist / Family Visitor visa and the Business visitor visa. Have a read through the information below to see which one applies to you.
Business Visitor Visa
If a person is a non-visa national, then they may not have to apply for a visa to visit the UK. However, if he or she is a visa national, then a visa is compulsory for admission into the UK. If they wish to come to the UK on a business trip, for example, holding meetings or signing contracts, then they must apply for a Business visitor visa. No work will be allowed during their visit, and only a restricted range of business activities are allowed.
Tourist / Family Visitor Visa
If a person is a non-visa national, then he may not have to apply for a visa to visit the UK. However, if he or she is a visa national, then a visa is compulsory for admission into the UK. A general visitor who wants to visit family and friends or vacate in the UK must show that they have no intention of working during their visit, and that they have sufficient funds and accommodation arrangements. They must also show they will return to their home country after their visit. If the Home Office suspects they have no intention of returning home, they will refuse the application.
